about the major

Neuroscience is the study of the structure and function of neurons and how they are assembled to produce behaviors. This topic uses a multidisciplinary approach that extends from the molecular, through the cellular, and to the behavioral level.

Course requirements for the major

In the Fall of 2007, we instituted a completely new Neuroscience Major that includes 3 new core courses (for details see course requirements above):

NEUR 100: Brain, Behavior and Cognition: An Introduction to Neuroscience

NEUR 200: Neurons, Networks, and Behavior with Laboratory

NEUR 300: Capstone Seminar in Neuroscience

First Neuro 100 Lab (Fall 07) with special guests
