Right-wing blogger, author and columnist Michelle Malkin came to Wellesley on Monday. Originally slated to discuss “Standing up to the Girls Gone Wild Culture,” Malkin switched topics to what she called “standing up to misogyny on the left.”
“I think it’s important particularly for students at a women’s college to think about,” Malkin said. “I’ve experienced in my own career as a professional journalist and as someone who has identified as a conservative...a particular kind of treatment that I’ve also seen prominent conservative women experience. I diagnosed it last year: conservative female abuse.”

Wellesley College boasts a strong Honor Code, allowing professors to assign take-home exams as well as administering un-proctored, self-scheduled final exams. With self-scheduled exams, students in the same class end up taking the final on different days. Every form of testing always opens up temptation and the possibility of cheating. | This semester, the Wellesley Debates, a tradition sponsored by President Kim Bottomly, was held on Tuesday, May 5. The topic for this semester’s debate was the importance of multiculturalism in a liberal arts education. Currently, Wellesley’s distribution requirements entail one multicultural course. In order to fulfill this requirement, to put forth a multicultural requirement proposal, which is signed by her faculty advisor and ultimately put on file with the Registrar’s Office. |
