Letter to the Wellesley Community

Anonymous Contributor

To the Wellesley Community:

I am writing an apology letter to the community regarding two incidents that occurred at the science library during the first week of April 2009. In each of the incidents, I failed to respect another student’s property. During the first incident I went through another student’s book bag and during the second incident I took items from a student’s bag. I would sincerely like to apologize for my actions, which has betrayed the Wellesley community trust and the Honor Code. After having gone through the experience, I have learned my lesson. I have learned that during any difficult time there are people, centers and other resources available to all the students. I have learned to ask for support when I need it and I have seen the benefit from reaching out to them. I also have much more respect for the Honor Code at Wellesley and what it stands for.

I have spoken with many different individuals on campus and discussed with them the circumstances that led me to make very poor decisions. They have really helped me manage and deal with the circumstances of my situation. I now recognize that my actions could have been prevented had I realized and taken advantage of the resources available to me on campus. Once again, I sincerely apologize for my actions. I am certain I will never allow myself to behave in such a way ever again.Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,
An apologetic student
