Sanja Jagesic '08 wins prestigious fellowship

Sanja Jagesic '08 was awarded the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans based on her merit. A senior at Wellesley, Jagesic is a sociology and German double major who recently received news of this $72,000 scholarship towards "achieving leadership in her chosen field."

Harry Belafonte visits Wellesley

Last Tuesday, Wellesley College students, faculty and staff welcomed to campus famed actor, social activist and musician Harry Belafonte, this year's Martin Luther King Jr. lecturer. Each year, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Committee, a group made up of the Student Organizations and Appointments Committee (SOAC) appoints student representatives.

Brown student, war veteran talks about his experiences

Scott Ewing, a Brown University junior and Iraq War veteran, came to speak about his experience in Tal Afar, Iraq this Monday. His lecture came just days before the fifth anniversary of the occupation in Iraq and was sponsored by the Wellelsey Students for a Democratic Society as a part of the national SDS's National Days of Student Action to Protest the Iraq War.
