GOALS FOR SEMESTER/YEAR AWAY

Below are some of the most common reasons students cite for planning to study abroad.

  • Master a Foreign Language
  • Experience a foreign educational system
  • Gain a different perspective on their major
  • Take classes not available at Wellesley
  • Pursue independent research interests
  • Perform fieldwork or participate in experiential learning
  • Live in a different environment
  • Seek more independence
  • Build their resume or academic credentials
  • Network for future employment opportunities

What are your primary goals for a semester/year abroad and why is the program you have selected a good choice given your particular goals?

PLANS FOR COMPLETING DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
DO NOT LEAVE ANY LINES BLANK.

List courses you took, will take, or are currently taking to satisfy degree requirements. Indicate department, course number, title and semester. If you wish to use a course taken elsewhere toward these requirements, it must be worth a full unit of credit and approved by the major department.

It is your responsibility to check the course bulletin to be sure the courses you list satisfy these requirements. Remember also that you must take at least 18 courses outside any one department. The Wellesley B.A. requires that of the last four college semesters, two consecutive full-time terms must be completed at Wellesley. If you have questions about any of these requirements, consult your Class Dean.
