Card Information

Here's a brief description of the information on the Wellesley OneCard:

Photo - Digitized photograph of the cardholder, taken when the OneCard is initially issued.

Card Number - The card number meets international standards to uniquely identify the cardholder as a member of the Wellesley College community. Note that this ISO number is not the same as your ID number.

ID Number - This is your ID number used by all of the Wellesley College computer systems to uniquely identify you. When filling out any administrative form that requires your ID number (such as those from the Registrar's Office, the Bursary, etc.), make sure to enter this number -- not the 16-digit ISO number mentioned above.

Name - Name of the cardholder.

Seal - The Wellesley College seal is used to verify the integrity of the card. If the card has been tampered with, the seal will be destroyed.

Bank Stripe - The larger magnetic stripe is encoded with your identification number (the same number that appears on the front of the card). Some departments have equipment to read the number on the card and they use that data to identify students for meal plans, for building access, and to retrieve records.

Vending Stripe - The smaller magnetic stripe will be used in the future to store cash value that may then be used in vending machines, copiers, and laundry machines. There will be a maximum dollar value that may be stored at any time -- probably in the $20-$40 range.

Signature - This space is reserved for you to sign, and thereby validate, your card.

Ownership - The Wellesley OneCard is the property of Wellesley College and must be returned if so requested.
