Frequently Asked Questions

In today's society, we are constantly exposed to information in the form of data. Although numerical data are often used to convey ideas or to influence our views about a particular issue, understanding data within the context they exist can be challenging.

In keeping with CS100, students will evaluate data published on the Web and library sources on the Digital Divide. Pathways students work with faculty and teaching assistants to explore the meanings, benefits, and limitations of the data. Students will examine different forms of data presentations, including multivariate tables and bar graphs. They will also learn to use spreadsheets and generate their own numerical data displays.
