Team Members:

The team includes Gretchen Campbell, Jenny Ross, Ann Sanders, and Tyler Wellensiek, and is advised by Prof. Ted Ducas, and Prof. Robbie Berg.

Ann Sanders

Ann is currently a sophomore at Wellesley, majoring in physics. After graduating from Wellesley College, she
hopes to attend medical school. Ann would like to enroll in an M.D./PhD program, earning her Ph.D. in aeronautical/astronautical engineering.  After graduating from medical school, she hopes to become involved in research dealing with the physiological effects of micro gravity, and ultimately, would like to become an astronaut.
Ann found out about this program last summer, while working as an intern at Johnson Space Center. For two and a half months, she interned in the Neuroscience Lab, a division of the Life Sciences Research Laboratory, under Dr. Todd Schlegel.  In July, Ann had her first opportunity to fly on the KC-135.

While not in class, Ann takes flying lessons and is working towards her student pilot license. She also recently became SCUBA certified.

Tyler Wellensiek
Tyler is a sophomore from Madison, Wisconsin majoring in physics . Tyler has not decided on a definite career, but she plans to go on to graduate school in industrial engineering, business, or law.  Outside of the classroom, Tyler devotes most of her spare time to music, singing in the Wellesley College Choir, of which she is the secretary, and taking private voice lessons. When not at Wellesley, Tyler enjoys playing tennis, biking, and hiking. This summer she plans to do just that, and will be working in northern Minnesota for a canoe outfitting company.  Next fall she intends to spend a semester abroad in Italy studying the humanities,  before completing her physics major at Wellesley. .

Jenny Ross

Jenny is a junior at Wellesley College, majoring in physics and math. After graduating from Wellesley, Jenny hopes to study chaos theory in graduate school. Jenny is new to Wellesley this year transferring from Oberlin College. She will be spending this summer at Mt. Holyoke.

Outside of classes, Jenny loves being involved in music. She is a DJ at the college radio station, and is on the Student Board of Governors, which plans special events and concerts on campus. If you ever hear loud punk music pumping out of a lab room in the science center, it is probably Jenny  doing physics.

Gretchen Campbell
Gretchen is currently a sophomore at Wellesley College, and is originally from East Aurora, N.Y. a suburb of Buffalo. At Wellesley, she hopes to pursue a double major in physics and computer science. She is still undecided about her post college plans, but shes is currently considering just about everything.  Gretchen will be speding the summer at NIST.

Outside of class she is a member of Wellesley's Society of Physics Students, and is also a Public Cluster Consultant for the college's Information Services.
