Research
Colloquia & Seminars
The
Physics Department holds an annual series of colloquia in
which research physicists are invited to present their
work to our students and faculty. These colloquia are an
excellent forum for students to learn about research
issues at the forefronts of physics. Our location in the
Boston area, with its many world-class research
institutions, affords us access to many speakers in a
wide range of fields. The department also regularly
co-sponsors research talks with the Astronomy Department.
We also hold informal "chalk talks" - lunch-time meetings
where we, faculty and students, can discuss our ongoing
research projects and "hot topics" in the world of
physics.
