The amended Crime Awareness and Security Act mandates the reporting of the following criminal acts on campus during the most recent year as well as the preceding school years.

The Act mandates the reporting of any of these crimes that were bias related or hate crimes. None of these reported crimes were hate or bias related incidents.

Wellesley College is also mandated to report statistics concerning the number of arrests or referrals for campus disciplinary action for the following incidents occurring on campus.

The Higher Education Amendments of 1998 to the Campus Security Act also mandate the reporting of criminal incidents that occurred public property which is "within the same reasonably contiguous geographic area of the institution, such as a sidewalk, other thoroughfare, or parking facility, and is adjacent to a facility owned or controlled by the institution if the facility is used by the institution in the direct support of, or in a manner related to the institution's educational purposes."

Bias or hate related crimes would include crimes involving bodily injury to any person in which the victim is intentionally selected because of the actual or perceived race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or disability of the victim.
