COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) To learn the assumptions, principles and research methods of the major
paradigms of personality psychology. 2) To learn criteria for evaluating
the adequacy of psychological theory. 3) To gain richer and more sophisticated
understanding and appreciation of the complexity and diversity of human
personality.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Paper describing your initial theories about personality. Not graded,
but required.
2. 2 short papers 20 pts
each x 2 = 40 pts
3 Midterm ( 20 pts) & Final Exam (30 pts)--combination of short answer
and essay.
4. Class participation, attitude, and conscientiousness and miscellaneous
intangibles = 10 pts

5. Regular class attendance
is, of course, expected. Please note that there will material covered
in lectures that is not in the readings, and material in the readings
that is not in the lectures; you will be responsible for both lecture
and reading material.

will be a more detailed handout for the paper assignments. Note that papers
should either be handed to me personally, or handed in to Pat Paul in
SCI 466. DO NOT PUT YOUR PAPERS IN MY MAILBOX!
YOU MUST ALWAYS KEEP A COPY
OF EACH OF YOUR PAPERS.Plagiarism is a violation of the College honor
code, (as well as a serious ethical violation generally) and will be dealt
with via the College Judiciary. No credit will be given for plagiarized
work, and credit for the course will be in jeopardy if plagiarism is confirmed.
