Methodological and Statistical Concepts and Vocabulary
The concepts mentioned in the following list are important for you to be able to use and understand during this course. Some of these concepts we will only mention briefly; some of them we will harp on endlessly. As your projects develop we will add concepts and vocabulary that are specifically relevant to those projects. I suggest that you fill in the definitions and other information from our discussions and your reading about each concept as we go through the semester. That way you will be well prepared for the quizzes you will have an easy way of monitoring your understanding (i.e. if you can’t come up with a good definition/explanation after we’ve discussed a term in class then you know that you should ask about it!) and you’ll feel comfortable reading and using the jargon of the field as you conduct your research.
