Recent photos of the Paintshop Pond project site:

Considerable work has taken place on the site of the former Henry Wood's paint factory site. The photos below, taken at the end of February, give an overview of some of the progress.

Aerial views from the south (left) and west (right) taken 2/21/02. The eastern-most portion of the containment area (adjacent to the existing soccer field) has been covered with the geosynthetic engineered barrier and then topped with 18 inches of clean, sandy-looking soil. Soil continues to be added to the remaining portion of the containment area (the darker brown rectangle in the middle of each photo). Construction has begun on the pedestrian boardwalk across the southern wetlands (the tan line through the darker wetlands -- in lower portion of south photo and to the right in the west photo).
