The planned activities for the week of 8/13/2001 are as follows:

  1. Continue contaminated stump grinding.
  2. Installation of emergency overflow diversion tube.
  3. Installation of sump(s) in Paintshop Pond for dewatering.
  4. Continue bulk excavation of clean borrow soils from Borrow Area A, creating additional consolidation area footprint.
  5. Continue excavating clean and contaminated peat materials from the Northern Wetland, with subsequent backfill with clean materials.
  6. Continued dewatering in Northern Wetland using miscellaneous sumps.
  7. Complete the main dewatering sump velocity dispersion measures and header piping.
  8. Limited tree clearing in the Distribution Center upper parking lot area.

Activities conducted during the week of 8/6/2001 include:

  1. Excavated contaminated and clean peat from the Northern Wetlands and contaminated soils from upland areas.
  2. Continued backfilling Northern Wetland with clean borrow to create clean pad.
  3. Completed excavation of contaminated soils on top of the former tennis courts and relocated the materials to the treatment area.
  4. Excavated clean borrow soils for backfill in Northern Wetlands and upland areas.
  5. Continue improvements to the multi-media filter, including installation of main dewatering sump velocity dispersion system.
  6. Chipping contaminated stumps.
  7. Construction of a wet peat drying area in the contaminated uplands.
  8. Continued dust control and surface water diversion.
