The planned activities for the week of 8/20/2001 are as follows:

  1. Begin upper Distribution Center parking lot remediation.
  2. Tree and vegetation clearing near Paintshop Pond cofferdam and treatment area for IT staging areas.
  3. Contaminated and clean peat removal from the Northern Wetlands, with subsequent backfill with clean materials.
  4. Continued stockpiling of clean peat in Borrow Area B gravel pit (ongoing).
  5. Begin Paintshop Pond sediment removal, including installation of miscellaneous sumps.
  6. Completion of diversion tube.
  7. Continue construction of consolidation area.
  8. Ongoing main dewatering sump improvements.

Activities conducted during the week of 8/13/2001 include:

  1. Ongoing contaminated stump grinding.
  2. Conducted remedial excavation and subsequent installation of diversion tube weir structure; began excavating for the diversion tube/pipe.
  3. Installation of sump(s) in Paintshop Pond for dewatering.
  4. Continue bulk excavation of clean borrow soils from Borrow Area A.
  5. Continue excavating clean and contaminated peat materials from the Northern Wetland, with subsequent backfill with clean materials.
  6. Continued dewatering in Northern Wetland using miscellaneous sumps.
  7. Continue constructing the main dewatering sump velocity dispersion measures and header piping.
  8. Relocated contaminated soil and debris from the top of the former tennis court to appropriate on-site areas. Scraped and stockpiled fill soils observed on top of the former tennis courts.
