  15. Complete final remediation around PSP dam area.
  16. Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  17. Mix in dry materials to reduce moisture content of treated material before excavating and relocating to consolidation area.
  18. Dredge cell V3 in accordance with Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) request.
  19. Begin placing sand and gravel cap near mouth of Upper Waban Brook, if approved by DEP.
  20. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

Activities conducted during the week of 12/17/01 include:
  1. Remedial excavation in remaining southern wetland area adjacent to main dewatering sump.
  2. Ongoing Paintshop Pond dam and wall restoration. Installed double arch bridge sections.
  3. Waban Brook subgrade preparation and channel construction.
  4. Continue dewatering from temporary dewatering sump.
  5. Placement of fill and grading for the water quality swale located on the south side of the consolidation area berm.
  6. Continued management of soil in the consolidation area.
  7. Continued manufacture additional sand borrow.
  8. Ongoing management of partially-dewatered sediment from northern shoreline/western cove dredging in consolidation area.
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and peat and filling.
  10. Resizing and off-site transport of felled trees/logs.
  11. Continue subgrade grading on small portion of east field area to receive woven geotextile and sand borrow.
  12. Continue Installation of woven geotextile fabric layer and 6-in. sand borrow layer on eastern field to prepare for HDPE liner installation (east field only).
  13. Install HDPE geomembrane over the east field (nearly complete).
  14. Removed temporary sheetpile cofferdam installed in front of PSP dam and installed water control berm to allow equipment access.
  15. Removed main dewatering sump equipment.
  16. Continued to treat soil and pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  17. Mixed dry materials to reduce moisture content of treated material before excavating and relocating to consolidation area.
  18. Load out treated and tested soil.
  19. Completed re-dredging area NS-1.
  20. Mobilized to grid cell V3. Dredged spoils were loaded into barges for primary de-watering. Maxymillian Technology is using a barge equipped with a sump to de-water dredged spoils prior to transport to the shoreline. Barges are then transported to shore where material is excavated from barge loaded into trucks and placed in the uplands.
  21. Continue health and safety air monitoring.
