The planned activities for the week of 2/18/2002 are as follows:

 

  1. Stone mason completed setting stone; may set cut granite blocks in channel if they arrive.
  2. Placement, and compaction of imported fill.
  3. Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  4. Continue restoration work, shaping slopes around the site.
  5. Continue preparing subgrades across site.
  6. Manufacture topsoil.
  7. Finish grading in the detention basin.
  8. Continue boardwalk and bridge carpentry.
  9. Storm drain installation.
  10. Take hydraulic oil contaminated soil (from spill) off site for disposal.
  11. Take transite pipe off site for disposal.
  12. Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  13. Begin consolidating treatment work area.
  14. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

    Activities conducted during the week of 2/11/02 include:
  1. Stone mason completed setting stone.
  2. Excavation, relocation, placement and compaction of fill (miscellaneous fill).
  3. Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  4. Continued restoration work, shaping slopes along the edge of the softball field.
  5. Continue preparing subgrades across site.
  6. Installed the water quality swale outlet structure and piping.
  7. Completed haul road cleanup near the barge launch area.
  8. Continue boardwalk and bridge carpentry.
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
  10. Stockpiledsand excavated from the detention basin for later use as sand borrow or select borrow.
  11. Completed remediating small area east of the IT work area.
  12. Conducted test pit explorations in hydraulic and miscellaneous fills at the north end of the proposed track area to assess soil type and quality.
  13. Filled portion of the slopes surrounding the east field of the consolidation area with completed engineered barrier system.
  14. Treated soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  15. Excavated treated and tested soil.
  16. Continue health and safety air monitoring.
