The planned activities for
the week of 2/18/2002 are as follows:
- Stone mason completed setting stone; may set cut granite blocks in
channel if they arrive.
- Placement, and compaction of imported fill.
- Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field
area).
- Continue restoration work, shaping slopes around the site.
- Continue preparing subgrades across site.
- Manufacture topsoil.
- Finish grading in the detention basin.
- Continue boardwalk and bridge carpentry.
- Storm drain installation.
- Take hydraulic oil contaminated soil (from spill) off site for disposal.
- Take transite pipe off site for disposal.
- Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium
polysulfide reagent).
- Begin consolidating treatment work area.
- Continue health and safety air monitoring.
Activities conducted during
the week of 2/11/02 include:
- Stone mason completed setting stone.
- Excavation, relocation, placement and compaction of fill (miscellaneous
fill).
- Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field
area).
- Continued restoration work, shaping slopes along the edge of the softball
field.
- Continue preparing subgrades across site.
- Installed the water quality swale outlet structure and piping.
- Completed haul road cleanup near the barge launch area.
- Continue boardwalk and bridge carpentry.
- Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
- Stockpiledsand excavated from the detention basin for later use as
sand borrow or select borrow.
- Completed remediating small area east of the IT work area.
- Conducted test pit explorations in hydraulic and miscellaneous fills
at the north end of the proposed track area to assess soil type and
quality.
- Filled portion of the slopes surrounding the east field of the consolidation
area with completed engineered barrier system.
- Treated soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide
reagent).
- Excavated treated and tested soil.
- Continue health and safety air monitoring.
