The planned activities for
the week of 1/28/2002 are as follows:
- Stone mason continues setting stone.
- Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill (hydraulic fill).
- Excavation of hydraulic fill in uplands east of IT treatment area
and onsite reuse as semi-pervious fill or miscellaneous fill adjacent
to the PSP dam area or other area on site needing fill.
- Placing riprap around PSP dam.
- Remove sheetpiling in Lake Waban.
- Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field
area).
- Continue screening operation.
- Continue preparing subgrades across site.
- Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
- Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil (if encountered).
- May begin storm drainage work.
- Continue boardwalk carpentry.
- Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium
polysulfide reagent).
- Continue to excavate treated and tested soil.
- Continue health and safety air monitoring.
Activities conducted during
the week of 1/21/02 include:
- Stone mason continued setting stone.
- Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill adjacent to Paintshop
Pond dam.
- Excavation of hydraulic fill in uplands east of IT treatment area
and onsite reuse as semi-pervious fill or miscellaneous fill adjacent
to the PSP dam area or other site filling areas, respectively.
- Placed Riprap (rounded and angular) around PSP dam for erosion control.
- Removed sheetpiling in Lake Waban.
- Continued managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west
field area).
- Completed temporary interior drain swale in consolidation area.
- Continued preparing subgrades in vicinity of the water quality swale
area, including the installation of the underdrain.
- Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
- Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil in vicinity of the IT
work area..
- Screening onsite sand and gravel to select borrow specification.
- Continued boardwalk carpentry.
- Continue installing erosion and sediment controls.
- Subgrade preparation of the walking paths south of Waban Brook.
- Cleaned up hydraulic oil release when hydraulic hose failed.
- Placement of subgrade fill and peat borrow fill for wetlands restoration
along edge of PSP.
- Placement of topsoil in area where subgrade prepared.
- Continued to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium
polysulfide reagent).
- Continue health and safety air monitoring.
