The planned activities for the week of 1/28/2002 are as follows:

 

  1. Stone mason continues setting stone.
  2. Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill (hydraulic fill).
  3. Excavation of hydraulic fill in uplands east of IT treatment area and onsite reuse as semi-pervious fill or miscellaneous fill adjacent to the PSP dam area or other area on site needing fill.
  4. Placing riprap around PSP dam.
  5. Remove sheetpiling in Lake Waban.
  6. Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  7. Continue screening operation.
  8. Continue preparing subgrades across site.
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
  10. Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil (if encountered).
  11. May begin storm drainage work.
  12. Continue boardwalk carpentry.
  13. Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  14. Continue to excavate treated and tested soil.
  15. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

    Activities conducted during the week of 1/21/02 include:
  1. Stone mason continued setting stone.
  2. Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill adjacent to Paintshop Pond dam.
  3. Excavation of hydraulic fill in uplands east of IT treatment area and onsite reuse as semi-pervious fill or miscellaneous fill adjacent to the PSP dam area or other site filling areas, respectively.
  4. Placed Riprap (rounded and angular) around PSP dam for erosion control.
  5. Removed sheetpiling in Lake Waban.
  6. Continued managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  7. Completed temporary interior drain swale in consolidation area.
  8. Continued preparing subgrades in vicinity of the water quality swale area, including the installation of the underdrain.
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
  10. Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil in vicinity of the IT work area..
  11. Screening onsite sand and gravel to select borrow specification.
  12. Continued boardwalk carpentry.
  13. Continue installing erosion and sediment controls.
  14. Subgrade preparation of the walking paths south of Waban Brook.
  15. Cleaned up hydraulic oil release when hydraulic hose failed.
  16. Placement of subgrade fill and peat borrow fill for wetlands restoration along edge of PSP.
  17. Placement of topsoil in area where subgrade prepared.
  18. Continued to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  19. Continue health and safety air monitoring.
