The planned activities for the week of 1/7/2002 are as follows:

 

  1. Stone mason to begin setting stone.
  2. Southern wetland, wetland south of Paintshop Pond, and Waban Brook subgrade preparation and peat installation.
  3. Begin screw pile installation for boardwalk
  4. Dewatering from temporary dewatering sump (occasional dewatering as needed).
  5. Continue with remedial excavation in the area adjacent to G3 at the southeast corner of the IT treatment area.
  6. Continue managing soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  7. Manufacture additional select borrow.
  8. Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill adjacent to Paintshop Pond dam (weather permitting)
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and filling.
  10. Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil (if encountered).
  11. Backfilling in Lake Waban for capping.
  12. Begin placing select borrow over the geocomposite and geomembrane.
  13. Excavation of hydraulic fill in uplands east of IT treatment area and onsite reuse as semi-pervious fill adjacent to the PSP dam area.
  14. Continue to treat soil/pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  15. Mix in dry materials (if necessary) to reduce moisture content of treated material before excavating and relocating to consolidation area.
  16. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

    Activities conducted during the week of 12/31/01 include:
  1. Remedial excavation in remaining southern wetland area adjacent to main dewatering sump (remediation work is complete in southern wetland).
  2. Stone mason mobilized.
  3. Southern wetland, wetland south of Paintshop Pond, and Waban Brook subgrade preparation and peat installation.
  4. Continue dewatering from temporary dewatering sump until Friday 1/4/02 (taken offline except for emergency use).
  5. Continue installing drainage blanket, stone, and filter fabric on exterior of retaining walls downstream of dam.
  6. Continued management of soil in the remaining consolidation area (west field area).
  7. Continued to manufacture additional sand borrow.
  8. Placement and compaction of semi-pervious fill adjacent to Paintshop Pond dam.
  9. Miscellaneous excavation of borrow soil and peat and filling.
  10. Miscellaneous excavation of contaminated soil.
  11. Backfilling in Lake Waban for capping.
  12. Completed HDPE installation and QAQC, as well as install geocomposite drain over the east field.
  13. Installed steel reinforcement and poured concrete bridge abutment for bridge over Waban Brook.
  14. Continued to treat soil and pigment (using ferrous sulfate and/or calcium polysulfide reagent).
  15. Mixed dry materials to reduce moisture content of treated material before excavating and relocating to consolidation area.
  16. Load out treated and tested soil.
  17. Mobilized to mouth of Upper Waban Brook for placement of sand and gravel cap and began placing sand & gravel cap as approved by DEP.
  18. Haley & Aldrich collected additional samples from cells F2, G3, and H3. XRF results showed sediment concentrations in these cells to be above the remedial goal for lead.
  19. Continue health and safety air monitoring.
