The planned activities for the week 7/23/2001 are as follows:

  1. Start Paintshop Pond (PSP) diversion pumps. Manufacturer's rep on-site on 7/24 to perform
    check-out/shakedown, will likely start pumping afternoon of 7/24 or on 7/25.
  2. Start constructing main dewatering sump.
  3. Continue pumping from temporary surface water diversion station until PSP pumps are operational.
  4. Continue removing stumps in contaminated area just south of the treatment area.
  5. Prepare Borrow B area as storage area for clean peat to be excavated from Northern Wetland.
  6. Continue loading out wood chips.
  7. Continue Northern Wetland excavation and placing contaminated peat in northeast corner of consolidation area.
  8. Continue backfilling Northern Wetland to create clean pad.
  9. Begin constructing main dewatering sump.
  10. Install a 4" diameter HDPE pipe from PSP cofferdam to dust control frac tank (upgrading from current 2" dia. pipe) to supply dust control water.

Activities conducted during the week of 7/16/2001 include:

  1. Installed temporary surface water diversion station.
  2. Completed wiring and plumbing PSP diversion pumps.
  3. Removed several loads of logs and wood chips.
  4. Drained PSP.
  5. Excavated contaminated upland soil immediately west of Northern Wetland to construct roadway for long-reach excavator that will be used to excavate Northern Wetland; backfilled with clean fill.
  6. Continue constructing consolidation area.
  7. Tied temporary storm drain extension pipe into Distribution Center lot manhole.
  8. Excavated asphalt pavement from former tennis courts.
  9. Pulled up sheets across mouth of Waban Brook above LakeWaban water level.
  10. Constructed Waban Brook diversion channel through Northern Wetlands.
  11. Began stump removal in contaminated areas.
