The planned activities for the week 7/30/2001 are as follows: Continue operating Paintshop Pond (PSP) diversion pumps (ongoing activity: after this report, will no longer report this activity in the weekly update reports). Begin excavating in uplands south of area to be treated, and moving excavated material into consolidation area. Continue excavating contaminated peat from Northern Wetland and stockpiling in consolidation area. Continue backfilling Northern Wetland with clean borrow to create clean pad. Excavate contaminated uplands immediately west of Northern Wetland. Continue constructing western sidewall of consolidation area. Continue construction main dewatering sump, continue using temporary dewatering sump until main sump is completed. Continue removing stumps in contaminated area. Activities conducted during the week of 7/23/2001 include: Started Paintshop Pond (PSP) diversion pumps on 7/24 and on 7/25 . Started constructing main dewatering sump. Continued pumping from temporary surface water diversion station until PSP pumps were put into operation. Since starting up PSP pumps, diversion station now serves as temporary dewatering sump until main dewatering sump is operational. Continued removing stumps in contaminated area just south of the treatment area. Prepared Borrow B area as storage area for clean peat to be excavated from Northern Wetland. Continued loading out wood chips. Continued Northern Wetland excavation and placing contaminated peat in northeast corner of consolidation area. Continued backfilling Northern Wetland to create clean pad. Began constructing western sidewall of consolidation area, beginning at northwest corner. Installed a 4" diameter HDPE pipe from PSP cofferdam to dust control frac tank (upgrading from current 2" dia. pipe) to supply dust control water.
