The planned activities for the week of 11/5/2001 are as follows:

  1. Remedial excavation in uplands east of Paintshop Pond and south of Waban Brook likely to be completed by middle of week. Also continue with southern wetland remedial excavation. This leaves the remediation of remaining portions of Waban Brook, uplands north of the IT treatment area, and remaining portions of the southern wetland to be completed in the following weeks.
  2. Start Field Hockey field exploration program to delineate the extent of additional remedial excavation in the field area on 11/6/01.
  3. Continue placing, grading, and compacting contaminated fill brought into the consolidation area.
  4. Continue concrete work in the vicinity of Paintshop Pond dam.
  5. Continue backfilling portions of the Southern Wetland, use clean peat as backfill as necessary.
  6. On 11/6/01, mobilize a soil screen plant to make select soil types/gradations for clean fill operations.
  7. Continue managing northern shoreline/western cove dredge material for drying in uplands or directly in the consolidation area if workable. Will move to western cove on 11/6/01 and work east.
  8. Continued operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  9. Excavate clean borrow soils from Borrow B.
  10. Possibly excavate contaminated soil from northernmost portion of site.
  11. Treat soil/pigment (including soil brought to expanded treatment area south of main treatment area).
  12. Excavate treated and tested soil.
  13. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

    Activities conducted during the week of 10/29/2001 include:
  1. Continued remedial excavation in uplands east of Paintshop Pond, south of Waban Brook and southern wetland.
  2. Continued placing, grading, and compacting contaminated fill brought into the consolidation area.
  3. Continued concrete work in the vicinity of Paintshop Pond dam.
  4. Began backfilling portions of the southern wetland.
  5. Continued managing northern shoreline/western cove dredge material for drying in uplands or directly in the consolidation area if workable.
  6. Continued operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  7. Created additional treatment area south of existing treatment area.
  8. Treated soil and pigment.
  9. Excavated treated and tested soil
  10. Continue health and safety air monitoring.
