The planned activities for the week of 10/1/2001 are as follows:

  1. Continue dredging in Lake Waban and managing material in uplands decant area.
  2. Continue uplands remedial excavation adjacent to the southern wetlands.
  3. Uplands remedial excavation adjacent to and downstream of the Paintshop Pond dam for purposes of installing concrete footings and wingwalls..
  4. Excavation of clean Borrow B material for miscellaneous filling operations.
  5. Continue removing contaminated Southern Wetland peat.
  6. Continue spreading contaminated material in the consoldation area along the bottom of the completed clean pad of the consolidation area.
  7. Finish restoration of upper Distribution Center parking lot.
  8. Continue operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  9. Construct mock-up of the retaining wall with stone facade.
  10. Conduct health and safety air monitoring.
  11. Install slope stabilization berm along outside (eastern edge) of Northern Shoreline/Western Cove area "NS-2".

Activities conducted during the week of 9/24/2001 include:

  1. Nearly completed consolidation area south berm.
  2. Uplands remedial excavation adjacent to and downstream of the Paintshop Pond dam for purposes of installing concrete footings and wingwalls.
  3. Excavation of clean Borrow B material for miscellaneous filling operations.
  4. Continued removing contaminated Southern Wetland peat.
  5. Spread contaminated material in the consoldation area along the bottom of the completed clean pad of the consolidation area.
  6. Continue bringing contaminated Northern Wetland peat stockpiled in Uplands for drying to the consolidation area.
  7. Continue operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  8. Completed Versalock retaining wall blocks in the upper Distribution Center parking lot.
  9. Construct mock-up of the retaining wall with stone facade.
  10. Started uplands remedial excavation in the vicinity of the former settling lagoons.
  11. Relocated dredged Northern Shoreline sediments to decant stockpile area.
  12. Poured concrete for right (south) wingwall.
  13. In Northern Shoreline/Western Cove, completed dredging area "NS-1", located immediately south of the mouth of Upper Waban Brook.
  14. Began dredging the western portion of area "NS-2."
