The planned activities for the week of 10/8/2001 are as follows:

  1. Continue dredging in Lake Waban and managing material in uplands decant area.
  2. Continue uplands remedial excavation adjacent to the southern wetlands.
  3. Uplands remedial excavation adjacent to and downstream of the Paintshop Pond dam for purposes of installing concrete footings and wingwalls; uplands remedial excavation in the vicinity of former paint factory; uplands remedial excavation south of treatment area.
  4. Excavation of clean Borrow B material for miscellaneous filling operations.
  5. Continue excavating contaminated Southern Wetland peat (piling for load-out).
  6. Complete grading of layer of contaminated peat in the consolidation area.
  7. Continue operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  8. Treat soil.
  9. Excavate treated and tested soil.
  10. Continue health and safety air monitoring.

    Activities conducted during the week of 10/1/2001 include:
  1. Continued dredging in Lake Waban and managing material in uplands decant area.
  2. Continued uplands remedial excavation adjacent to the southern wetlands.
  3. Uplands remedial excavation adjacent to and downstream of the Paintshop Pond dam for purposes of installing concrete footings and wingwalls. Layout of proposed reinforced concrete retaining walls around Paintshop Pond dam.
  4. Excavation of clean Borrow B material for miscellaneous filling operations.
  5. Continued removing contaminated Southern Wetland peat.
  6. Continued operating stump grinder.
  7. Spread contaminated material in the consoldation area along the bottom of the completed clean pad of the consolidation area.
  8. Finished upper Distribution Ccenter parking lot restoration.
  9. Continued operation of multi-media and bag filter treatment system at the main dewatering sump.
  10. Constructed mock-up of the retaining wall with stone facade.
  11. Removed concrete forms on poured concrete.
  12. Excavated subgrade for footings downstream of Paintshop Pond dam.
  13. Manage clean peat stockpile material to improve dewatering.
