Nicolas de Warren

Nicolas de Warren is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Wellesley College. Having studied in Paris, Heidelberg, and Boston, de Warren obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Boston University. He currently teaches courses in phenomenology and existentialism, modern philosophy, aesthetics, and select topics in continental philosophy.

De Warren's primary interests lie in understanding and developing the basic problems of philosophy against the background of their historical expression. Towards this end, his areas of research are phenomenology, hermeneutics, 20th century French philosophy, German Idealism, Kant, and early modern philosophy. Current projects include a phenomenological inquiry into the nature of time-consciousness.
