Nicholas K. Doe

Nicholas K. Doe is a Senior Instructor of Chemistry Laboratories at Wellesley College. He has been a member of the faculty since 1993 and has taught Introductory Chemistry lab, Organic Chemistry lab, and Biochemistry lab.

Nick received a B.A. degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1986. He earned his M.A. in Education from Stanford University in 1987. After teaching high school chemistry for three years at Aptos High School in Aptos, California, he returned to school to earn his M.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1992.

Mr. Doe’s main interest lies in curriculum development for the Introductory and Organic Chemistry labs. He has developed or modified several labs being taught in the Introductory and Organic Chemistry labs today. His new vision is to see all the teaching labs with laptop computers for the students and online lab manuals with more visual aids to enhance the students abilities to learn lab techniques.

When not teaching or developing new labs, Nick is an avid basketball player who loves to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two young boys.
