Scott D. Anderson

Scott D. Anderson is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Wellesley College Computer Science Department, where he has taught since Fall, 2000. He received his B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Yale University in 1983. He received his M.S. in1988 and Ph.D. in1995 in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Currently, Scott teaches Computers and the Internet (CS110), Computer Graphics (CS307) and an occasional special topics course on Databases with Web Interfaces (CS349). He is also one of the system administrators of the department's network of Linux machines.

Scott's research interests comprise Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and he is currently funded by an NSF grant with Frank Klassner at Villanova University. They are working on a collection of tools and lab exercises so that the Lego Mindstorms robots can be used in connection with the computer science curriculum at colleges and universities.

Prior to coming to Wellesley, Scott taught for five years at Spelman College, an historically black college for women, founded in 1881 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Scott is married to Holly B. Anderson, an attorney.
