Tucker R. Crum
Tucker R. Crum is a senior laboratory instructor of biological sciences at Wellesley College. She joined the Wellesley faculty in September 2001. She teaches the lab component of genetics, cell physiology, organismal biology, microbiology and introductory cell biology in the biological sciences department. She also teaches science writing in the writing program.
Crum received a B.S. from Mary Washington College and an M.S. in biology from Long Island University. She has been an instructor of biology at institutions including University of Virginia, Barnard, Emmanuel, Simmons, and Wellesley College.
Ms. Crum enjoys melding science education with her other major interest–art. She is a museum teacher at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and a tour guide at the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston (ICA). She has designed museum activities for biology students, such as "Art for the Anatomist" and “Art for the Physiologist" and co-authored a paper entitled "Exploring Anatomy through Art."
