Jean R. Herbst

Jean Herbst is an Instructor of Science Laboratories in the Computer Science Department at Wellesley College. She joined the Wellesley faculty in 1993. Her specialization is in the area of computer hardware technology and applications.

Ms. Herbst is a 1984 graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She received her M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Rhode Island in 1993.

After spending several years working as a software engineer doing embedded systems applications, Herbst has served the Computer Science Department in a variety of capacities. These include computer system administration, webpage design, and development and teaching of Internet, programming, machine organization and computer architecture laboratories.

She and her husband, Scott, are the parents of two sons, and live in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
