Amanda M. McCarthy
Amanda M. McCarthy is a Senior Instructor of Chemistry Laboratories at Wellesley College. A member of the faculty since 1996, Amanda teaches courses in both Introductory Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
Amanda received a B.S. degree in Environmental Chemistry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) at Syracuse University in 1991. She continued her studies at SUNY ESF to earn her M.S. degree, also in Environmental Chemistry, in 1994. At SUNY ESF she studied the content of PCB’s in the sediment of Lake Champlain.
Before coming to Wellesley College, Ms. McCarthy worked as a technical writer for Syracuse Research Corporation in its Environmental Science division, which specializes in software and databases, chem-bio defense, and risk assessment of chemicals and mixtures.
