Lauri Wardell
Lauri Wardell is a Senior Instructor in Physics Laboratories at Wellesley College. A member of the faculty since 1988, she teaches introductory laboratories in Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and the advanced laboratory for Modern Physics.
Lauri received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985 from Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado, where she studied geology. She then began studying physics and received a Master of Science Degree in 1988 from University of Kentucky, Lexington. After three years as a part-time student at Lesley University, she completed a Master of Arts Degree in Intercultural Relations in 2003.
Lauri took a two-year leave of absence from 1997–1999 in order to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a Peace Corps volunteer. She taught physics and geology at a government bilingual high school in Kumba, Cameroon.
