Yui Suzuki
Yui Suzuki is an assistant professor in Biological Sciences and joined the Wellesley faculty in 2008. He received an A.B. from Bowdoin Collegein 2001 and a Ph.D. from Duke University in 2006. Before joining the Wellesley faculty, he was a postdoc at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Yui’s research focuses on the evolution and developmental regulation of organisms. In particular, he is fascinated by the amazing diversity of insect phenotypes and is interested in understanding the developmental processes that generate the phenotypic diversity. He loves insects and maintains butterflies, beetles and true bugs in the lab.
Yui also enjoys collecting insects, cycling, running, hiking, skiing and reading novels. He also likes to compose music that depicts the lives of insects.
