1. Who is eligible to write a thesis? Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in all courses in the major field above the 100-level. Dpartments should verify that any student admitted to its departmental honors program meets this qualification. If a student's GPA is below 3.5 but above 3.0, departments or advisors of individual majors may petition the CCI for an exemption to the GPA requirement. The petition should have the support not only of the student's advisor, but also of the entire department/program in which the student is majoring. The petition should be sent to the CCI, care of Jennifer Lewis.

Each student should check with her major department/program, as it may have its own requirements. As a courtesy to the visitor who will be reading the thesis, it should be held together in a temporary manner if it is not bound.
