Claflin Hall

outside of Claflin Hall

Claflin Hall was built in 1917 and was named in honor of former Governor Claflin of Massachusetts, who was a friend of Henry Durant's and signed the charter that created Wellesley College in 1870. Claflin sits on the western side of the Tower Complex and overlooks Lake Waban. The main living room of Claflin is done in wood carvings depicting characters from Alice in Wonderland.
