Kristine Niendorf – Director of Residential and Campus Life
Kris arrived at Wellesley College in January 2001, and is in her 25th year of working in Residence Life. She has worked at five other institutions: the University of Evansville (IN), Stephens College (MO), Buffalo State College (NY), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA), and Emmanuel College (MA). Her current title is the Director of Residential and Campus Life which translates into her supervisory roles with the departments of Residential Life, Student Activities, as well as the Advisor to the Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender students. She is also a representative for the Division of Student Life on many campus committees. Kris is passionate about student learning and development. She works to create a work environment that is open and inclusive to all students, faculty and staff. Kris received a BS in Child Psychology, an MS in Clinical Psychology from the University of Evansville, and completed her ED.D. in Higher EducationAdministration from UMASS Boston in June 2007.

Don Leach – Assistant Director of Residential Life
Don Leach is the Assistant Resident Director of Residential Life.  He graduated from Bates College (ME) in 1977 with a BA in Religious Studies.  His Master of Divinity degree is from Bangor Theological Seminary (ME).  Prior to joining the Wellesley Community, Don was ordained by the U.C.C. and served as a clergyperson in Maine.  Don enjoys reading poetry, taking walks around the lake and watching movies with his spouse, Sylvia, and their daughter Emily. 

 

 

Stacie Allen – Area Coordinator of Bates, McAfee, Homestead and Instead Stacie Allen has been the Resident Director of Bates and Claflin, and is now the Area Coordinator to Bates, McAfee, Homestead and Cedar Lodge.  Prior to that, she was the RD of Dower for three years.  She graduated from Regis College in Weston, MA with her BA in Communications and additional concentrations in Management and Early Childhood Education in 1993.  She also received her MA in Leadership and Organizational Change from Regis in 2006.  Prior to joining the Wellesley Community, Stacie worked in Human Resources for Parexel Corporation. In her spare time, Stacie enjoys cooking, watching Rachel Ray, reading and spending time with her three children (pictured), and her husband who resides with her in Bates Hall.

Sarah Cooper – Resident Director of Severance
Sarah has been the RD of Severance since the fall of 2004.  She graduated from Johnson and Wales University with an MA in teaching.  Sarah has worked in the field of Student Life at four other colleges over the past twelve years.  During this time she has held a variety of positions in the areas of Student Activities, Leadership Development, Greek Life, Orientation and Residential Life.  In her spare time she likes to spend time with family and friends, learn new things, and travel with her husband Shawn and their dog Magic.  Severance holds a special place in her heart for the warm and welcoming community that returns year after year.

 

 

Sherman Cowan - Resident Director of Claflin
Sherman has been working for Wellesley College since the fall of 1997 and has served as a Resident Director for Cazenove Hall,McAfee Hall and now Claflin. He has a BA in Psychology, a BS in History, and a MA in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego.  Sherman is also an officer in the Air National Guard.  In his spare time, Sherman enjoys playing tennis, bowling, lifting weights, and socializing with his brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.

ShaQuan Davis Read - Area Coordinator of Beebe and Shafer
Prior to becoming an Area Coordinator, ShaQuan was the Resident Director of Munger Hall . She graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with her B.S. in Environmental Engineering.  She recently received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Trauma from Lesley University in 2008.  Prior to joining the Wellesley community, ShaQuan worked as an RD at Nichols College.  In her spare time ShaQuan enjoys crafting, reading, baking, and having really good conversations! She lives in ShaferHall with her husband Matt & their miniature poodle Remy.

Erin Doherty - Area Coordinator of Stone-Davis, Dower, French House
Erin Doherty is the new Area Coordinator of Stone-Davis, Dower and the French House. She recently moved from Dower Hall into Stone-Davis, and was also the RD of Freeman Hall for 5 years prior.  She graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH with her BA in Psychology, where she served as an RA for two years. This sparked her interest in working in Student Affairs.  Erin completed her Ed.M. in Counseling in May 2006 and is also a licensed Guidance Counselor for grades 5-12. Prior to joining the Wellesley Community, Erin worked in Higher Education as a Resident Director at Notre Dame and Endicott Colleges.  She also worked for the MA Department of Social Services in the Adolescent Outreach Program as a Case Worker and then as the Department’s Youth Development Specialist.  In her spare time, Erin enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, scrap-booking, photography, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.  Erin and her husband Paul, who also enjoys living on the Wellesley Campus, have two beautiful baby daughters, Emma and Grace.

Dana Olivo - Resident Director of Freeman Hall
 Dana Olivo is the Resident Director of Freeman Hall.  She has been at Wellesley College since the Fall of 2007.  She graduated from Boston College in 2001 in her B.A. in Human Development and Sociology.  Prior to joining the Wellesley community, Dana has worked in Georgetown University in the Housing Office, and Barnard College in Residential Life.  IN her spare time, Dana enjoys traveling, trying to be crafty and spending time with her husband, Melvin, daughter Nola, and their dog, Laila

Paula Queenan - Area Coordiantor of Pomeroy&Cazenove Hall
Paula Queenan has been the Resident Director of Pomeroy, a role she has held since fall of 1999, and recently Cazenove starting from 2008.  For the past four years, she has also been the Coordinator of the First Year Mentor Program.  She holds an ED.D. in Psychological Education from UMASS Amherst.  Prior to joining the Wellesley community, Paula was the Director of Alumni Affairs at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore.  In her spare time, Paula enjoys playing with her cats, writing and hanging out with her daughter Helen (pictured).

When asked what advice she would give a first-year entering into Wellesley she says, “Come ready to learn, enjoy and fully participate in one of the most wonderfully challenging times of your life.  Bring only two things: courage and an open mind.  Bring courage to take risks, trust yourself, and feel deserving of the regard and camaraderie that awaits you. Bring an open mind in order to appreciate the experiences and opportunities unique to this diverse, welcoming community that is Wellesley College.”

Jessica Sprague - Resident Director of Munger Hall
Prior to Munger, Jessica Sprague was the Resident Director of Beebe Hall, a role she has held since August of 2003.  Jessica graduated from Wells College in Aurora New York in 1997 with a BA in Sociology.  Prior to joining the Residence Life Team at Wellesley College, Jess was a participant in the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program (JET).  She spent three years living just outside Tokyo, Japan teaching English to elementary and junior high school students.  In her spare time Jess loves spending time traveling with family and friends, walking on the beach, and playing cards.  Jess resides in Munger Hall, with her husband, David.

 

 

Meghan Todd - Area Coordinator of Tower Court & Cervantes
Meghan Todd joined Residential Life at Wellesley in August 2008 as the Resident Director of Tower Court. Meghan worked previously in Residential Life at both Iona College and at Sarah Lawrence College. Additionally, Meghan worked for the National Organization on Disability, splitting her time between Washington D.C. and New York City and contributing to Disability Policy Reform and Program Development, advocating for disability employment equality. Meghan is originally from Upstate New York but spent most of her childhood in Central Florida. It was during her time as an undergraduate at the University of Florida that Meghan discovered her interest in Student Affairs work as well as her passion for disability rights and advocacy. Since her time at the University of Florida, Meghan has continued to speak publicly and write about topics such as the importance of self advocacy for students with disabilities, disability rights in higher education, and the role of language in reframing society’s understanding of disability.  In 2006, Meghan received a Master’s degree in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College, completing a thesis on the feminist and political ideologies of Helen Keller, emphasizing the unwillingness of Keller biographers to address such critical issues. Meghan lives in Tower Court with her partner, Jaime, and their cat, Chicken.

Sandra Kim - Office Coordinator of Residential Life
Sandra is the Office Coordinator of Residential Life, helping out in both the offices of Student Activities and Residential Life since 2008.   Prior to coming to Wellesley in February 2008, Sandra had been teaching the arts – both visual and performing - for the past decade in NYC, LA, Orange County and Boston, and abroad in China and Korea. She has also worked in Residential Life and Student Affairs at U.C.L.A., Harvard Graduate School of Education and Teachers College, Columbia University.  She has two ED.M. degrees in Arts and Arts Education from Harvard Ed School and Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as a B.A. in U.S. History and Art History from U.C.L.A.  Her current passions include Musical Theatre, teaching kickboxing, and serving the Asian and Asian-American student population here in the Northeast.
