Pomeroy Hall, built in 1904, was named in honor of its benefactor, Martha Pomeroy, who wanted a building to be built that was for the convenience of astronomy students who studied in the Whitin Observatory (Glasscock). Mrs. Whitin, who donated the funds for the Observatory, was Mrs. Pomeroys sister-in-law. Part of the Hazard Quad (or the Quint), Pom, as it is fondly called, is a mirror image of Cazenove. Pomeroy is connected to Cazenove on the second to fourth floors. Pom has a vegetarian kosher dining hall.
