International Students, 2007

International students arrive in Boston with families, or meet Wellesley alumnae hostesses, by Friday, August 24, 2007, or the day before

Friday, August 24, 2007
Parents or hostess families bring international students to campus on Friday morning, stay for lunch.
9:00 a.m. Leave your luggage in your assigned residence hall room, and walk to the Slater International Center.
9:30 a.m. Arrival and registration at the Slater International Center
10:15 a.m. Welcoming remarks to the new international students coming to Wellesley
Kim Bottomly, President of the College
Jennifer Desjarlais, Dean of Admissions
Michelle Lepore, Interim Dean of Students
Robin Gaynor, Associate Director of Admissions
10:50 a.m. Introduction of new international students
11:30 a.m. Academic advising and the Class Dean system
12:30 p.m. Lunch in the Tower Court dining room for students, parents, and host families. This will be an opportunity for you, your parents, and your host families to get acquainted.
1:45 p.m. Parents: Question and Answer session
1:45 p.m. Students: Sandy Roberts, Director of Telecommunications, explains the telephone system at Wellesley.
2:45 p.m. Library Orientation and tour.
3:30 p.m. Visit the Student Aid Office
4:30 p.m. ALL international students go on a tour of the Campus (places you will need to know).
5:30 p.m. Return to your residence hall, have dinner in the Tower Court dining room
7:00 p.m. Move into your residence hall room; movie and relaxing at Slater International Center
Saturday, August 25, 2007
8:00 a.m. Breakfast in the Tower Court dining room
9:30 a.m. Immigration Compliance Workshop and other information. Bring your passport and visa form (I-20 or DS-2019).
10:45 a.m. Pre-Orientation activities at Slater International Center
12:00 p.m. Lunch in the Tower Court dining room
1:00 p.m. Pre-Orientation activities at the Slater International Center
5:30 p.m. Return to your residence hall, have dinner in the Tower Court dining room
7:00 p.m. Pre-Orientation activities at the Slater International Center
Sunday, August 26, 2007
8:00 a.m. Breakfast in the Tower Court dining room
8:45 a.m. Meet at Slater International Center to go to Boston for a student led tour. (please be prompt so we can leave on time and not miss the bus)
4:00 p.m. Meet at Harvard Square (Johnson Gate), to board the bus to return to Wellesley College together. (Parents may join the tour)
5:30 p.m. Return to your residence hall, have dinner in the Tower Court dining room
7:00 p.m. Evening activities at the Slater International Center

International students join the General Orientation Program for all incoming Wellesley students, beginning on the morning of Monday, August 27, 2007.
