Student Bursar Website
The Student Bursar website
contains a great deal of information including funding processes,
regular tasks of a treasurer such as check requests, and important dates.
Treasurers Conference on Firstclass
The Treasurers Conference also contains forms, calendars, and FAQs. Important updates, as well
as on-going Q&A, can be found in the main conference. All treasurers of SOAC constituted student organizations
should have access to this conference.
Co-Sponsorship Fund: The Office of Student Activities has made
funding available (up to $300) for campus wide events co-sponsored by two or more student organizations. In this
case, co-sponsorship must be more than sharing funding; qualified proposals will be the result of organizations
co-planning and co-implementing the event. Further requirements include the event being open to all students,
with preference given to alcohol-free events [this funding cannot be used towards alcohol or associated costs].
Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proposals must be submitted no later than two weeks prior
to the event date to be considered. Questions may be directed to the Office of Student Activities, x2672, or
by emailing “Student Activities” on Firstclass.
Co-Sponsorship Fund Application
Organizations who receive funding through the Co-Sponsorship Fund will be required to submit a brief Event Evaluation Form
within the week following the event. The evaluation will be used the Office of Student Activities to assess the use of the Co-Sponsorship Fund and its effects on the success of the event.
Committee on Lectures and Cultural Events
The Committee on Lectures and Cultural Events (CLCE) oversees
the application and administration of endowed funds intended to enhance the intellectual
and cultural life of the College. Events that CLCE sponsors
include lectures, conferences, panels, performances, workshops, retreats and
cultural shows. The CLCE meets monthly and is comprised of faculty, staff, and
students.
Student organizations are eligible to apply for CLCE funding. During the application process,
student organizations are very strongly encouraged to meet with either the Assistant Director of Student Activities
or one of the student representatives to the CLCE before submitting their proposal. Both the Assistant Director and
the student representatives are available to answer questions and review your proposal prior to submission.
If your organization is inviting a speaker or performer who is requesting payment of $5,000 or greater,
you are required by the CLCE to meet with the Assistant Director of Student Activities to discuss the negotiation process.
Please set this meeting as early as possible in the planning process, and well before your organization commits to bringing
the speaker/performer to campus.
All deadlines are the first of the month. The CLCE does not fund events that have already occurred.
Additionally, the CLCE will only review proposals that are happening at least one month out. Remaining deadlines are as follows:
Deadlines
December 1 (for events January 1 or later)
February 1 (for events March 1 or later)
March 1 (for events April 1 or later)
May 1 (for events in the 2007-2008 school year)
Application materials are currently available in the CLCE conference on FirstClass. As of January, 2007,
materials will be submitted via an on-line form. Check back in January for more details.
Campus Center Vendor Tables
Beginning Fall 2006, student organizations will have the opportunity to fundraise through the
Campus Center vendor program. Interested organizations will be invited to participate in a lottery, through which
they will be assigned a vendor table date during the fall semester. The responsibility of the organization is
then to promote the vendor prior to and during the day of the sale. The organization then will receive 15% of the profits up to
$50. For more details, contact the Office of Student Activities.
