How to find the MAC (Physical) address for your computer

Before you begin, please log out of the Cisco VPN client (Admin firewall), if you are logged in to it.  The VPN adapter also has a MAC address associated with it.  This is not the correct one!

On a PC

Click START, RUN and type CMD in the run box.  Click OK.
You will now be at a DOS window.
Type IPCONFIG /ALL, press enter, and look for PHYSICAL ADDRESS.
It will be in the form nn-nn-nn-nn-nn-nn.

On a MAC (OSX)

Click on the APPLE icon, select SYSTEM PREFERENCES, select NETWORK.  In the SHOW dropdown list, select BUILT-IN ETHERNET, under that, click the ETHERNET tab. Look for ETHERNET ID.

Or...

Click GO, UTILITIES, double click TERMINAL.
In the terminal window, type IFCONFIG, press enter.
About 10 rows down you will see "ether" and the info in the form nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn.

Examples of what you're looking for:

00:3D:FF:2B:8E:DA
00-3D-FF-2B-8E-DA

Of course, your numbers and letter will be different.
