Faculty and Staff Single Line Sets

General
Single line sets give users the ability to access features by using the "LINK" button and dialing access codes for the feature desired. Single line sets can only receive or make one call at a time, unless using a call waiting or conference feature. Most single line sets are equipped with a "RLS" key. This is a release key which disconnects a call when pressed. Single line sets have a message waiting lamp, which will light if a message is waiting in voicemail. All of the following features are available from single line sets:

Transfer
To transfer a call to another set: press link button, hear special dialtone, dial ext., when answered, announce caller, hang up.

Conference
To connect up to 6 parties on a conerence: press link button, hear special dialtone, dial 3rd party's number, announce conference, press link button again to connect all parties. Repeat procedure to connect additional parties. For more information, refer to our page on Conference Calling.

Call Forward
To send all calls to another extension: lift handset, dial *2, hear dialtone, dial ext. where calls will be sent, hang up.

To cancel: lift handset, dial #1, hear dialtone, hang up.

Call Pickup
To answer ringing set from your set: lift handset, dial *7, answer ringing call.

Permanent Hold
To place a call on hold: press link button, hear special dialtone, dial *4, hang up.

To retrieve call on hold: lift handset.

Ring Again
To be automatically notified when a busy set is free: when you hear busy tone, press link button, hear special dialtone, dial *5, hang up. When busy set is free, system will ring your set with short bursts of ringing. To respond, lift handset, and the system will dial the number.

Speed Call
To program 5 to 10 frequently dialed numbers under a 1-digit code: lift handset, dial *3, dial 1-digit speed call access code (0-4 or 0-9), dial number to be stored, (9 + 1 + area code + number), hang up. Repeat procedure for each number to be programmed.

To use: lift handset, dial #4, dial 1-digit code for number desired.

Last Number Redial
To redial the last number dialed: lift handset, press redial button, number is dialed. or if there is no redial button, lift handset and dial #8.

Account Code
To charge a call to a budget number: lift handset, dial *1, enter 5-digit account code (or 4 digits plus zero), hear dialtone, dial 9 plus the number.

Electronic Lock
Lock a set to prevent unauthorized use: lift handset, dial #6 and 4-digit password, hear confirmation tone, set is locked.
To unlock: lift handset, dial #7 and 4-digit password, hear confirmation tone, set is unlocked.

Change Password
Lift handset, dial #9 + old password, hear confirmation tone, enter new 4-digit password, hear confirmation tone, enter new password again, hear confirmation tone again, password is changed.
