The power plant union employees are truly behind the scenes and are rarely seen out of the power plant where round the clock watches are necessary to make sure heat and electricity are delivered uninterrupted to the buildings on campus. 8 people cover all the shifts at the power plant and the maintenance of equipment. |
Custodians keep all the buildings on campus clean and livable. They also help set up for events and deal with some building emergencies. Approximately 71 people work in Custodial Services. |

The specialty shop deals with a variety of campus systems including refrigeration, fire alarms, elevators, HVAC and other alarm systems. There are seven positions in this shop. |

The three person sheet metal shop is responsible for taking care of roof repairs, leaded windows, gutters and duct work. |

The energy shop mechanics look after the controls on the various HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning). This is a four person shop. |

The
four steam fitters make sure the steam heat functions properly in all
the buildings on campus. They also deal with chilled water and do welding
projects. |
