Eighteenth Annual Spring Into Shape Program

May 10-19, 2008

In the spirit of National Employee Health Month, the Employee Wellness Program is sponsoring a variety of programs to keep you healthy and energized.  To increase participation and encourage you to support one another in the pursuit of health and fitness, a variety of springtime activities and a team competition are again being sponsored.  We look forward to a successful and active Spring-Into-Shape event.

For all participants:

For team captains:

The Employee Wellness Program invites you to participate in as many of these spring activities as you can manage.  (It is advisable to check with your physician before beginning any new exercise program.)

Consider participating in the Spring-Into-Shape Program this May…

• Have you intended to do it for years? - It’s time to act on good intentions.
• Are you a part-time employee (or retired)? - You can exercise at work and / or at home
• Are you traveling during part of the program? - Fax the score sheet to your Team Captain.
• Do you prefer solo to group activities? -Program offers lots of FLEXIBILITY!

2 ways to get active; participate in both or either:
- The 10-day Spring-Into-Shape team competition and/or on-campus Spring-Into-Shape Activities.
- Each requires a different type of registration, but the goals are the same:
Opportunities to meet new people, have fun, get active, and win prizes!

Spring-Into-Shape Teams:
Form your own six-member team, OR if you are looking for teammates, email Connie Bauman (cbauman@wellesley.edu)

How a Team works/Registration:
• Teams consist of faculty, administrative staff, and/or union employees of the College.
• Teams decide on a name for their team.  (There’s a prize for the most creative name.)
• Each team designates a captain.
• Team Captain registers the team and its name for the ten-day program and reports team points earned at the end of the program.
• Activities can be on your own or Spring-Into-Shape events, at Wellesley or off-campus.
• The goal is 27 units of exercise over 10 days. See the Activities List and Registration Form and the Captain’s Letter for the different ways teams can earn points.
