Winter Classes

INTEGRATED FITNESS:
Monday: Life Enhancement
Using your own body weight, resistance balls, weights and other props enjoy this integrated functional class that will increase your flexibility, core strength and muscle tone.  All levels are welcome.

Wednesday:  Rebounding
Using mini trampolines you will increase your energy level, burn calories, and increase muscle tone.  Rebounding is a fun cardiovascular activity that will increase your balance.

STRENGTH TRAINING:  Tone up!  Increase your metabolism and improve your bone density through a weight training class.  The class focuses on increasing muscle strength and endurance through the use of small hand weights.  All levels welcome.
Thursday: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., Dance Studio 202, Jan. 3 – Jan. 31

PILATES:  Pilates focuses on strengthening your body’s “anatomical center” your abdomen, lower body and buttocks.  Each movement stretches and strengthens the involved group, while opening the joints and releasing tension.

AQUA AEROBICS: Get in shape without placing stress on your joints!  The course includes resistive training, core strengthening, stretching, and a cardiovascular workout.  Participants exercise in deep and shallow water.  No swimming experience is necessary.

TAI CHI:  Focus is on gentle stretching, achieving a meditative mindset and improving overall balance.

YOGA OFFERINGS

IYENGAR YOGA:  Learn the basics of Iyengar Yoga.  The focus of the classes will be on standing poses, simple forward bends, back bends, twists and strengthening work.  Also included will be restorative poses, breathing techniques and meditation.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA:  This class focuses on integrating breath and movement, strength and flexibility, awareness and alignments.  Get into the flow as you move from one posture to another.
Wed:  7:30-8:15 a.m.  Jan. 9 –Jan. 30. Dance Studio 202. Begin your day with a relaxing session of Vinyasa Yoga.

ZUMBA:  Zumba is a fusion of Latin and international dance styles combined with fitness elements to create a total cardiovascular workout.  Prepare to burn a lot of calories and get in aerobic shape with this fun activity!

INTERVAL TRAINING: Interval Training is a combination of cardiovascular activity interspersed with strength training.  Participants will benefit from improved cardiovascular fitness, strength and improved muscle endurance.

WALKING CLUB: Meet at the Sports Center fieldhouse indoor track for a brisk walk with the Walking Club.

GOLF TUNE-UP:
Beginning Golf:  Learn the basics of golf in order to start playing this Spring.  This class will teach you the fundamentals of the game.  You will learn about equipment, how to grip a golf club, the components of a proper setup, and how to execute a balanced and successful golf swing.  Equipment is provided.

Intermediate Golf:  Increase your knowledge and understanding of the golf swing and lower your handicap!  Learn what controls the distance and direction of a golf ball and how to make your golf swing more effective.  You will re-discover the importance of possessing proper fundamentals and learn new ways to improve your game on the golf course.  Equipment available if needed. Maximum enrollment:  8 (first-come, first-served)
