Writing 125 Placement Form

The form at the bottom of this web page is for incoming first-year students who wish to pre-register for one of The Writing Program's Writing 125 courses for underconfident writers.
You qualify as an underconfident writer if:
(a) any of your following SAT scores was under 580: your verbal score; your critical reading score; or your writing score (b) your high school training did not provide long and deep experience with writing (c) you do not have much experience writing in English (d) you have written primarily creative or personal prose rather than analytic or argumentative prose (e) your grades in courses that require written work are a letter grade or more lower than your grades in other courses, OR (f) you simply feel that you have difficulty writing

DEADLINE: August 15, 2008
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not perceive yourself as an underconfident writer or if you have been accepted into the Wellesley Plus program, do not submit this form; you will register for your Writing 125 courses during Orientation Week. At this point, we are accepting registration ONLY for the sections for underconfident writers listed below.
