A (highly) selective introduction to cinema studies, with an emphasis on Hollywood film. Through reading and writing about the position of women in cinema from the 30s through the present, students are introduced to the vocabulary of cinema studies and to methods of analysis. This course also provides students with a thorough introduction to the critical thinking, research, and writing skills expected of students at Wellesley College.
