Jennifer Musto

Associate Professor of Women's and Gender Studies and Incoming Director of Knapp Social Science Center

Jennifer Musto, PhD is an Associate Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and the incoming Director of the Knapp Social Science Center at Wellesley College. An interdisciplinary scholar, she teaches a wide array of undergraduate courses broadly focused on gender, race, sexuality, technology, law, surveillance, and punishment. Her research is informed by intersectional, anti-carceral and humanistic social science approaches and she utilizes qualitative methods in examining human trafficking, sex work, and carceral responses to violence, exploitation, and punishment in the United States. She has lectured and published widely on these topics and her research has advanced empirical research and policy responses to address human trafficking.

Sheila Datz

Academic Administrator

Sheila Datz has been at Wellesley since 2011 and has been an Academic Administrator for the KSSC and for 11 years. She is also one of the administrators in the Economics Department and supports the Quantitative Reasoning program. Sheila helps coordinate the Social Science Summer Research Program and the Summer Case Fellows in Economics Program. When not at Wellesley, she spends time with her family and Wheaten Terrier, Bodie.

KSSC Student Assistant

Ilinca Drondoe is a Student Assistant at the KSSC and a member of the Wellesley Class of 2026. She is majoring in Peace & Justice Studies, with an intended minor in Economics. Ilinca has been working with the KSSC since Fall 2022, and she is excited to continue supporting research and event opportunities in the social sciences! She is also an intern with the Institute for Mathematics & Democracy at Wellesley, as well as the Secretary of State's Office of Global Women's Issues.
