Frequently Asked Questions:
International Applicants
If I’m an international student, do I need to complete additional forms?
Yes, international candidates, including U.S. students studying outside the United States, must also provide the International Supplement to the Secondary School Report found on the Common Application. Please print this form, fill out the top portion, and have your secondary school counselor complete and submit it.
What if I’m an international student and wish to apply for financial aid?
Wellesley is not need blind for international students. The College has the resources to support a limited number of need-based financial aid awards for international students with demonstrated need. Therefore, admission is highly competitive. For those admitted, the College will fund the full amount of their demonstrated need.
International students applying for financial assistance are only eligible to apply under the Regular Decision Plan (electronic submission and/or postmark: January 15). International students not applying for financial aid may apply under any of Wellesley’s three decision plans. Students applying from the United World Colleges are eligible to apply under any decision plan.
What if English is my second language?
All applicants are required to take the SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests or ACT with Writing. We also strongly recommend that students for whom English is a second language and who have been studying in an English-based curriculum for less than five years take the TOEFL.
