Discover Wellesley for FREE: Apply for a fully funded travel grant to visit campus for Discover Wellesley Weekend 2016, Sunday-Monday, October 16-17

We're excited to hear of your interest in Wellesley College!

Wellesley will provide travel grants to cover the cost of transportation, meals, and housing for a limited group of rising high school senior girls, graduating in the Class of 2017, who wish to visit campus on: Sunday, October 16, and Monday, October 17, 2016. Please note that we're unable to award travel grants for visits outside of these dates.
 

Who is the program for?

Engaging, bright, and fun women like you who are interested in discovering Wellesley’s diverse and inclusive community! Wellesley encourages applicants who are from underrepresented cultural backgrounds such as African American, Asian American, Latina American, and Native American; first-generation students; and/or students from other underrepresented communities and regions.
How do I apply?

To apply for the grant, you must do two things: 

1. Complete the Travel Grant Application

2. Submit a copy of your unofficial transcript. 
Submit your transcript to the Travel Grant Coordinator via email at travel-grant@wellesley.edu or fax at 781-283-3678. (We will not consider your application complete until we receive your transcript.)

 

Please note: Before submitting your application, please be sure that you have permission from your parent or guardian and your school to travel to Boston to take advantage of this opportunity. If your airline tickets are booked and you cannot attend, you may be responsible for up to half of the cost of your ticket, as tickets are nonrefundable.

What are the deadlines?

Priority Deadline: June 30

Final Deadline: August 31

Wellesley's notification date: Decisions will be emailed to all applicants on Wednesday, July 20 (for the priority deadline) and Tuesday, September 21 (for the final deadline).
Your response date: You must let Wellesley know if you wish to use the travel grant within 5 days of receiving the offer.
Schedule and travel details: Wellesley will send information regarding schedule and travel details once you confirm your participation.
How is my transportation arranged? Wellesley College will book tickets for each students. Grant recipients are not to make transportation arrangements on their own. 
What will I do at the program? The program will include student panels; class visits; information sessions; demystifying the college application process; financing a Wellesley education; tours of campus, the Science Center, the Davis Museum; and much more. Check back in early September for the complete 2016 program.
