A Quick Guide for 
Prospective Financial Aid Applicants

Applying for financial aid may not be as daunting as you think. So why not give it a try. (Special instructions for international applicants.) Here are:

Four things you'll want to know before you begin.

1. Deadlines

Your financial aid deadlines depend upon which admission decision plan you choose. All requirements for the specific decision plan are outlined on the corresponding printable checkslists.

FAFSA
Free Application for Federal Student Aid
The Wellesley code is 002224.
For U.S. citizens and US permanent residents only.

File online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

If you wish to only be considered for federal financial aid, the FAFSA is the only application that is required.  Based on the results of your FAFSA, we may also need to request additional federal verification materials.

College Scholarship Service PROFILE
The Wellesley code is 3957.

The CSS PROFILE is used to determine institutional aid eligibility only. 

Income Documentation You'll need signed copies of federal tax forms and income documentation.

Prospective applicants should compile materials and mail a packet to Student Financial Services,  Green Hall Room 436, Wellesley College, 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.

 

3. Decision Notification

When Wellesley will notifiy you of your admission and financial aid decisions. 

DECISION PLAN NOTIFICATION DATE NOTE
Early Decision mid December You will receive your  admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
Note: admission is binding.
Early Evaluation late February You will be notified that your admission is likely,
possible, or unlikely. Note: admission is non-binding.
late March You will receive your final admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
Regular Decision late March You will receive your final admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
Davis Degree  mid April You will receive your final admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
Transfer,
Fall 2014 Entry
mid May You will receive your final admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
Transfer,
Spring 2013 Entry
late December You will receive your final admission decision and
financial aid notification concurrently.
