Hometown: Los Angeles, California
At Wellesley, I love how passionate the students are about learning. They care about their work and the effort they put into it.
What made you choose Wellesley?
There are a lot of great things about Wellesley, but the deciding factors for me were the size of the school and the type of students the college attracts. Most of my friends are at huge universities, with hundreds of people in their introductory classes. Wellesley’s size allows students to get to know their classmates and professors much more intimately. At Wellesley, I love how passionate the students are about learning. Most memorable class so far?
I’ve really enjoyed my WRIT 125/CAMS 115 course, Hitchcock, Auteur, because it combines two of my interests—writing and film. I love heading to Collins Cinema to watch a film with my class, then analyzing it in discussions and papers.
What has been a fun event you attended?
A few weekends ago, there was a drag queen show at Punch’s Alley. The pub was packed and the queens were pretty crazy. It was a lot of fun.
Do you have a favorite spot on campus?
On warm days, I enjoy working in the Academic quad and watching the leaves fall. I also love the fireplace room in the Lulu; it’s such a nice place to hang out.
Got a pet project?
I’m passionate about feminist issues, such as reproductive rights for women. I explore this interest through my blogging for Ms. Magazine
What about internships?
Right now, I’m finishing up my intern hours at Wellesley’s radio station, WZLY. I’m hoping to start my show next semester. I also work in Wellesley’s Communication and Public Affairs Department.
What’s your favorite meal on campus?
Although it’s not strictly a meal, I love having weekly tea in my dorm’s common room. It’s nice to take a little time out to talk with fellow residents and relax.
Where’s your roommate from?
She’s from a small town in Connecticut, which is pretty much the opposite of my home: Los Angeles, California.
Anything else about you?
My roommate and I love to decorate our door! It’s a collection of our favorite things, from Tina Fey quotes to cute notes from friends to pictures of Wellesley alums.
How has Wellesley surprised you?
It surprised me how perfect Wellesley is for me. I didn’t decide on it until a few days before the response deadline, but I know I made the right decision. Everything worked out better than I could have imagined.
